Boy dies in Maldives due to non-availability of Indian air-ambulance: 14-year-old child had brain tumor; President Muizzu did not give permission.
Boy dies in Maldives: A 14-year-old child has died during the Maldives-India dispute. According to reports, to save his life, he had to be immediately airlifted to the hospital, but Prime Minister Mohammad Muizzu did not use the Indian Dornier aircraft. Due to this the child could not be saved.
This child was suffering from stroke and brain tumor. His family requested an air ambulance from Wilmington, on the island of Gaf Alif Villingli, to take the child to Malé, the capital of the Maldives. For this, he started demanding airlift from the night of Wednesday, January 17 itself.
But till Thursday (January 18) morning there was no response to the family’s demand. By the time the response was received Thursday morning, 16 hours had passed. Maldives’ Aasandha Company Limited finally airlifted the child and admitted him to the ICU, but could not be saved.
The child’s father said – it was necessary to get an air ambulance.
The child’s father told that we had called Island Aviation and asked for immediate help, but it was not available. He answered the phone at 8:30 am on Thursday. In such cases finding the airport is very important.
Maldivian company doing airlift cited technical glitch.
Aasandha Company has issued a statement regarding this matter, in which it has been said that they were ready to carry out the medical transfer of the child as soon as they received the demand for help, but there was a delay at the last moment due to a technical hurdle.
Reason for dispute between India and Maldives…
On January 4, Prime Minister Modi had posted a video of his Lakshadweep visit. Lakshadweep was more beautiful than Maldives. There was a discussion on social media that going to Lakshadweep is better than spending lakhs of rupees and going to Maldives.

Maldivian Minister Mariam Shiuna, Deputy Ministers Abdulla Mahjoom Majeed and Malsha Sharif were angered by this and posted a post on social media, in which Prime Minister Modi was insulted. Whereas Zahid Rameez wrote that India cannot compete with us in services. Mary was the Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts.
Maldivian leaders made objectionable remarks, which led to clashes between Indians and Maldivians on social media. The anger of the people in India increased so much that the hashtags ExploreIndianIsland and BoycottMaldives started trending across the country.
Sachin Tendulkar, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan also joined the campaign and promoted Indian tourism. The Maldives government then dismissed Minister Mariam Shiuna, Deputy Minister Malsha Sharif and Abdulla Mahjoom Majeed. The government said that the comments of their leaders were personal and not the opinion of the Government of Maldives.
