Auspicious time for Ganesh Sthapana – According to the Hindu calendar, this year the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start from 12:39 pm on 18th September and will end on 19th September at noon. 01 will end at 43 minutes. The most auspicious time for Ganesh Sthapana on 19th September is from 11:01 am to 01:28 pm.
Ganesh idol installation method-
1. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, first of all sprinkle Ganga water on the post and purify it.
2.Now spread a red colored cloth on the platform and place Akshat (whole rice) on it.
3. Install the idol of Lord Shri Ganesh on the post.
4. Now bathe Lord Ganesha and sprinkle Ganga water.
5. Place one betel nut on both sides of the idol as a sign of Riddhi-Siddhi.
6. Place a pot filled with water on the right side of the idol of Lord Ganesha.
7. Meditate on Ganpati Bappa with Akshat and flowers in your hand.
8. Offer fruits, flowers and sweets etc. to Lord Ganesha.
9. Chant the mantra of Lord Ganesha: Om Gan Ganpataye Namah.
10. Perform Aarti of Lord Ganesha.
