Truck drivers’ strike ends: The Central Government and All India Motor Transport Congress have reached an agreement on the new law of hit and run case late on Tuesday evening. The organization has asked the drivers who went on strike to return to work.

The Government of India has considered the provision of 10 years’ imprisonment and fine in Section 106(2) of the IPC, said Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla. These rules will not apply now. The opinion of the organization will be taken before implementing them.

President of the organization, Amritlal Madan said that we have received assurance from the Home Secretary that he will sit and review this law. Meanwhile, truck drivers ended the strike in several places in the country including Bhopal, Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Ratlam and Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh. However, drivers are still undecided in many parts of the country.

Supply of milk and vegetables is normal in Madhya Pradesh, there is no crowd even at petrol pumps.

Truck and bus drivers have ended their strike in Madhya Pradesh. Trucks, passenger buses and school buses started plying on the roads from Wednesday. Interstate buses also started running. The supply of milk and fruits and vegetables became normal. Buses started running in cities also.

From 4 am on Wednesday, drivers started taking buses from Bhopal to other districts. With trucks and loading vehicles running in the mandis, the arrival of fruits and vegetables was like normal.

Rajesh Sen, General Secretary of Jabalpur Bus Drivers Association, said, ‘The strike is over. Now the drivers are taking care of the steering of the buses.

December 30, first day of strike:

The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) has demanded making the hit and run law more stringent. The organization itself has called for chakka jam and strike. The date of the AIMTC’s upcoming meeting is January 10.

31st December was the second day of strike:

01 January, third day of strike:

On January 1, the third day of the strike, chakka jam took place in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. In other districts of Chhattisgarh like Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Surguja and Jagdalpur, buses did not leave the station. Whereas 900 buses did not run in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. In Bhopal, people formed a huge crowd at the pumps to fill diesel and petrol for their vehicles. The police had to move forward to control the crowd in Balaghat.

02 January 4th strike day:

AIMTC and Center reach agreement on ending strike. On January 2, the fourth day of the strike, chakka jam took place in about ten states of the country. The supply of fruits-vegetables, petrol-diesel and other essential commodities was affected. The central government and All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) met in Delhi in view of the growing impact of the strike. In which an agreement was reached to end the strike. The central government called on drivers to return to work.
