Adiani Energy Administrator Center Committee: This committee had approved six projects of Adani; Uddhav faction said that friendship is like this
Adiani Energy Administrator Center Committee: Modi government has appointed Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) advisor Janardan Chaudhary as a member of the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC). EAC is under the Ministry of Environment.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction, UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said on this that if there is friendship then it is like this. EAC has approved six projects of 10 thousand 300 MW area in Adani.
Priyanka also said that one member is an advisor in the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) and one is an advisor in AGEL. Who are the additional members of the EAC? Only one of the committee is a consultant to a private company and surprisingly works for AGEL.
On October 17, Adani Green Energy Limited presented several projects before the EAC, including 850 MW Raiwada (Andhra Pradesh), 1800 MW Pedakota (Andhra Pradesh), 2100 MW Patgaon (Maharashtra), 2450 MW Koyna-Nivkane ( Maharashtra), 1500 MW Malshej Ghat Bhorande (Maharashtra) and 1500 MW Tarali (”
Environment Ministry’s portal Parivartan states that the first meeting of the reconstituted Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) was held on October 17 and 18. This included the 1500 MW Tarali Pumped Storage project of AGEL (Satara).
Congress and TMC also debated on the appointment.
Kerala Congress said on social media that Adani employee Janardhan Chaudhary has been made a member of the EAC. EAC has approved six projects at a cost of Rs 10,300 MW.
TMC MP Mahua Moitra said that the Environment Ministry of Modi government has made Adani employee Janardan Choudhary a member of EAC. AGEL’s 1500 MW Satara plant was approved by Chaudhary in the last meeting.
Janardan Chaudhary is part of many panels
The media claimed that Chaudhary was given the appointment on 27 September. Chaudhary was named as one of the seven non-institutional members by the Union Environment Ministry while reconstituting the EAC for hydropower and river valley projects. Reports also suggested that Chaudhary was appointed to all the important panels that approved several power projects. Some of these include the works of Adani Group.
Janraj Chaudhary worked in National Hydro Power Corporation for 36 years. He retired from the post of Technical Director in March 2020. In April 2022, he became an advisor at Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL).
