Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli dies at age of 83.

Roberto Cavalli: Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, known for his animal-print designs favored by showbusiness stars, has died at the age of 83, his company said. Cavalli had formed his own label in the early 1970s, but he had been ill for some time. His partner Sandra Bergman Nilsson and their six children are still alive. “The Roberto Cavalli Company sends its sympathies to Mr. Cavalli’s family, his legacy remains a constant source of inspiration,” said Roberto Cavalli Chief Executive Sergio Azzolari, posting on Instagram.

Cavalli’s Extroverted Personality and Love for Art.

Italian news agency ANSA reported that the designer died at his home in Florence on Friday.
Cavalli, who used bright colors and patchwork effects in his striking creations, was an extrovert art lover who smoked cigars and wore dark glasses. When he moved into real estate, he often gave evenings at the “Just Cavalli Café”, a nightclub in central Milan. Giorgio Armani said that, even though his ideas about fashion could not be so different, he always had “the utmost respect” for Cavalli.

Cavalli’s Impact on the World of Fashion.
