Terrorist Attack on Indian Army Truck in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir
Terrorist Attack on Indian Army: In a recent incident, terrorists targeted an Indian Army truck in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to gunfire exchanges. This marks the second terrorist attack on the army in this region within a month. The concerned region has seen the deployment of additional security troops, and the situation is now being closely monitored.
Terror Incidents in Rajouri-Poonch Belt Over the Past Two Years:
2021: October – Series of Attacks
- 11th October: Clash with army personnel in the jungles of Surankote tehsil in Poonch resulted in the martyrdom of five, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO).
- 16th October: Confrontation in the Bhatta Durian area of Mendhar tehsil, Poonch, led to the martyrdom of four, including another JCO.
2021: October – Mine Blast in Rajouri
- 30th October: Lieutenant and a soldier lost their lives in a mine blast in the Naushera sector of Rajouri.
2022: August and December – Major Attacks
- 11th August: Terrorists attacked the Paragal Army camp in the Darhal area of Rajouri, resulting in the martyrdom of five soldiers. Two suicide attackers were neutralized by the army.
- 18th December: Outside the Alpha Gate in Rajouri, a terrorist attack claimed the lives of two civilians.
2023: Ten Soldiers Martyred This Year
- 1st January: Firing and an IED blast by foreign terrorists in Dangri village, Rajouri, resulted in the death of seven individuals, including two minors.
- 20th April: Terrorists targeted security forces in the Bhatta Durian area of Mendhar tehsil, Poonch, leading to the martyrdom of five soldiers and injuries to one.
- 5th May: In Kandi, Rajouri, terrorists executed an IED blast, resulting in the martyrdom of five Army Para Commandos and injuries to a Major.
- 18th July: Security forces eliminated four Pakistani terrorists in the Sindhara Top area of Surankote tehsil, Poonch.
