Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue Successful: All 41 workers were successfully evacuated.
Uttarkashi Tunnel: The country was bathed in lights on Diwali, but 41 employees were trapped in a dark tunnel. These workers were making a new route to Char Dham. All workers moved out of Uttarkashi’s Silkyara-Dandalgaon Tunnel when a portion suddenly collapsed.
The employees’ rescue was initiated by the rescue body. When one plan failed, work began on another. Efforts were made to rescue the workers from the mouth of the tunnel and sometimes from the top of the mountain.
The first employee was taken out from 5.30 am on November 12 to 8.35 pm on November 28, that is, after 17 days and about 399 hours, at 7.50 pm. At 8:35 p.m., 45 minutes later, everyone was escorted out. Even the workmen crept out on their hands and knees. Everyone was sent to the hospital by ambulance.
Rescue team member Harpal Singh said that the first break through was found at 7.5 pm. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami talked to the laid-off employees. Alongside him was VK Singh, a Union Minister.

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue Successful: All workers healthy.
Naseem, a manual driller with a new age company named Rate Snappers, said that all the employees are healthy. I took a selfie with him. All the workers cheered when the last stone was removed, he said.

Green corridor from tunnel to hospital.
After the rescue, the employees were sent to Chinyalisaur, 30 to 35 km away. A 41-bed specialized hospital has been built there. The road from the tunnel to Chinyalisad was declared a green corridor, so that the workers did not have to take an ambulance to the hospital after the rescue. It is approximately 30 to 35 kilometers away. It took roughly forty minutes to finish.
Uttarkashi Tunnel: 12 meters excavated in 21 hours.
At 1.20 pm on the 17th day after the accident, rat miners engaged in horizontal drilling from the Silkyara side completed the excavation. They had to drill 12 meters of automated drilling in 21 hours. On November 24, the auger machine broke just 12 meters away from the workers’ place. It was necessary to halt the rescue as a result.

How Rat Miners Worked in Uttarkashi Tunnel.
Rat miners entered and drilled the 800 mm pipe. They used to go inside the pipe one by one and dig with small shovels with the help of hands. About two quintals of debris was taken out from the trolley at a time. Each of these also had an oxygen mask for protection, a special goggles for eye protection and a blower for air.
