World Hindi Day in 2024: Many languages are spoken in India to communicate, but Hindi connects most Indians together. Even today Hindi is considered as the official language in India, although most of the people are inclined towards English.
Hindi language also gives a distinct identity to the Indians living in India. World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10 January, in which Hindi is given high respect in foreign countries. It is important for every person to know its history and why World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10 January.
Crores of people around the world speak Hindi.
Hindi is still one of the five languages spoken across the world. Today there are crores of people all over the world who speak Hindi. Fiji is an island in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean where Hindi has been given the status of an official language.
Hindi is one of the ten most powerful languages of the world according to the calculations of the World Economic Forum. In 2017, the Oxford Dictionary included the words baby, big day, good and surya namaskar. Due to this, Hindi is now becoming popular in foreign countries also. People living abroad are also realizing the need for Hindi.
History of “Hindi” – World Hindi Day.
Now let us see the history of Hindi Diwas. The first Hindi Day was organized in Nagpur, Maharashtra on 10 January 1974. 122 people from 30 countries participated in this conference. Globalization of Hindi was the main goal of this conference. The Indian Embassy of Norway celebrated World Hindi Day for the first time in Nagpur.
Indian Norway Information and Cultural Forum celebrated the second and third Hindi Day under the chairmanship of writer Suresh Chandra Shukla. In 2006, Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh declared 10 January as World Hindi Day.
This is this year’s theme.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on a different theme. The World Hindi Day Conference this year will focus on Hindi traditional knowledge and artificial intelligence.
