At 2:30 pm on 19 November, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at Imphal Airport said that they had sighted an unidentified object. After this, one IndiGo flight and two Air India flights were refused landing. Two flights coming from Imphal were diverted to Kolkata at the same time. This information was given by Imphal ATC to the Air Force.

Flight service started after Air Force clearance.

Imphal airspace and airplane operations were promptly blocked, according to the ATC report. During this, about one thousand passengers were affected. The Air Force got control of Imphal airspace from the Airport Authority of India (AAI). Commercial flight operations started in Imphal only after clearance from the Air Force.
