The bill was passed in the House of Representatives on Wednesday by 352 votes against 65, considering TikTok’s current ownership structure as a threat to the country’s security. Now it will be sent to the Senate (Upper House). 150 million Americans use TikTok, which is a subsidiary of Chinese technology firm ByteDance Ltd.
US lawmakers said that the Chinese government is on ByteDance. In such a situation, if the Chinese government wants, it can demand the data of American TikTok users.
